Brazilian Butt Lift New Orleans
The popularity of the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) has soared in the past decade as one of the most common cosmetic surgeries. This procedure can provide an ampler posterior to those looking to improve their assets below the waist. As with most rising trends, celebrity influence is another contributing factor to the recent popularity of the BBL. Celebrities like J Lo or the Kardashians have received a lot of media attention for their backsides. A Brazilian butt lift is much more than just a lift. Instead, it’s actually two procedures combined into one! Fat is removed from other less desirable parts of the body and then injected into the buttocks.
Another reason for the trend, may be that our views of the body have shifted. Curvier figures are increasingly accepted as the norm. Rather than the ultra-thin figure on the runway in past years, women today are encouraged to embrace and flaunt their curves, making a Brazilian butt lift an excellent way to highlight your figure.
Brazilian butt lift is a great procedure for contouring the mid-section and the butt. There is a misconception that this procedure is to greatly increase the size of the buttocks. Most patients actually opt for a size that looks natural and matches their frame. From some, the procedure is to make the butt bigger and curvier with more projections. While others it entails contouring the butt to achieve a more stream line figure.
HOW IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT PERFORMED?
Dr. Pelias’ technique involves fat extraction with liposuction, processing of the fat, and reinjection of the fat droplets. Fat extraction is performed by liposuction. Suction assisted tumescent liposuction is used to extract the fat which will later be used for the fat graft to the buttocks. After liposuction, the fat suctioned from the body is carefully processed and purified. Only a fraction of the fat removed will qualify for re-injection to the buttocks. The fat is transferred to the buttocks through injections with special cannulas. Dr. Pelias injects small amounts of purified fat into different areas of the buttocks and at various depths so that our patients will get the highest permanent absorption rate.
A realistic amount of fat that is injected into each buttocks cheek is about 580 cc. The buttocks can also be augmented with butt implants. However, Dr. Pelias believes the Brazilian butt lift technique is far superior to implants. In fact, Dr. Pelias only uses natural fat grafting and no longer uses butt implants because they have a higher complication rate and the results are not as good. If you are a very thin patient, Dr. Pelias will likely have to ‘find’ fat from various areas of your body, as no one area will have a robust amount of fat.
WHAT IS BRAZILIAN BUTT REOVERLY LIKE?
Following Dr. Pelias’ post-operative instructions are crucial for ensuring fat cell survival following your Brazilian butt lift. Most importantly, you must not sit directly on your buttocks for up to three weeks. This allows the best take of the fat graft in your buttocks and ensures the most long-lasting results. Not following these instructions may cause you to lose some of the fat graft! You must wear a special compression garment to control swelling for several weeks. There will be a small amount of swelling that last for 4-6 weeks following surgery.
HOW MUCH DOES A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT COST?
Total cost of the Brazilian butt lift depends on how many areas are liposuctioned. Two areas of liposuction typically yields an adequate amount of fat but in some cases patients request more areas for liposuction or need more fat removed to receive the enhancement they desire. A price range for BBL is $10,500 – $13,500. Total cost includes surgeon’s fee, OR fee, Anesthesia fee, a post-operative garment and all post-operative office visits. We work with a number of finance companies so that you can have a low, affordable, monthly payment.
